Language is a key to understand each other. There are a lot of languages in the world that were separated by countries, locations and groups. Even in Cambodia, there are many languages too like Khmer language, Khmer Islamic language or Chinese language. Cham Language is the language of the Cham people of Southeast Asia, and formerly the language of the kingdom of Champa in central Vietnam. A member of the Malayo-Polynesian branch of the Austronesian family, it is spoken by 100,000 people in Vietnam and up to 220,000 people in Cambodia (1992 estimate). There are also small populations of speakers in Thailand and Malaysia. Other Chamic languages are spoken in Vietnam (RaglaiRhadeJaraiChruH'roi) and on the Chinese island of Hainan (Tsat). Cham is related to the Malayo-Polynesian languages of IndonesiaMalaysia, Madagascar, and the Philippines. It once had a much wider extent and possibly much larger number of speakers as it was the primary language of the Champa empire

By the way, there are 372 Muslim villages in Cambodia; Most of them are living in nearly all provinces who has divided into 2 groups too. The small group is called Chvea who cannot speak Cham Language but both of them are called Khmer Islam together now. They was oriental people in Cambodia more than 1000 years ago. The other group is a big group who were from  Champa, the south province of Vietnam country, They have using this language a long time. For example, Muslim in Vietnam can communicate with Khmer Islam by using this language to talk as they are living in the same Muslim communities.

Then, Muslim from Champa who are living in Cambodia today can speaks Cham languages about 80% of them and 20% more that cannot speak Cham languages. The group who cannot speak now live in Kampot, Kampong Som ( Sihanoukville) and also some villages of other provinces. The way to keep this language for hundreds years is speaking it every day in their families. We should take notice that 30% of Cham languages is similar to Malaysian languages.

In addition, there is a very small group about 6 to 7 villages who is, original from Champa, living in Kampong Chnang province that has may different things from others group. For example, they have Alphabets, some different way to read Al-quran and married ceremony. They have keep some documents by writing in their alphabet and also in home teaching.
